Life gets crazy! Am I right?! We are busy constantly running around and if you're a mom, like me, well that's just a whole different ball game!!
I truly believe that making time for YOU is essential for your mind and body!
5 steps to establishing a healthy relationship with exercising:
1. Positive Mindset. Your "why?"
2. Do what you love with PASSION
3. Make it a part of your lifestyle
4. It doesn't have to be all or nothing
5. Do what works for YOU
Step 1.
First things first- it's all about mindset! It's all about your "WHY"
What's your "why?"
Think about that for a moment....
Now use your "why" to motivate you--> but here's the catch. It has to be POSITIVE!! No negativity here. What are you gaining from working out?? How is it improving YOU?? Grab a pen and paper and make a list of the positive outcomes!
What's my "why"?? Here it is:
1. Role model a healthy lifestyle for my family.
2. Gives me Feel Good energy
3. Stress & anxiety reliever
4. Gives my body good definition
5. Increases happiness
6. Love that burn
7. Natural booty lift
8. More endurance to play with my boys
9. Better flexibility
10. Strong core
Step 2.
Find a work out you love and do it with PASSSION!!! YESS!!
Try different workouts. Try new classes. It might take time to find the one you love. But when you do- you will know it!!
Step 3.
Make it part of your lifestyle.
Believe me it will be a lot easier to make that time for it!
Maybe get up a little earlier or find a studio or fitness center that will keep you motivated: Look for one that has an amazing community (it will keep you accountable!!!)
Work out with your kids. Have them join in and make it fun!
Working out doesn't have to be a chore!! But I do HIGHLY recommend scheduling your workouts- making them a priority. Even if it's just getting outside for a 15 minute walk and getting some fresh air. It's all about moving your body.
Step 4
It doesn't have to be an all or nothing thing.
If you skip a day? no worries! pick back up tomorrow.
You only have 15 minutes? No problem! I have a ton of great short videos on my On-Demand Library ! 😉 And plenty of more to come! OR get outside for a quick walk. OR do a quick HIIT workout!
Step 5
Do what works for YOU!! Never give up! Remind yourself what it does for your mind & body. That's what it's all about: It's putting steps 1-4 together!
Make it something that fits into your everyday life.
Remembering it's a gradual change. You are creating a habit and it will take you 2-4 weeks for your new lifestyle to become a reality. Stick with it!! Set yourself up for success.
New to working out? Start slow, start small. Don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone—> Try something new. Find something you love, NOT hate. If you don't like something, don't do it! But make sure you love yourself enough that you are challenging yourself. #selflove
